Gunmen
suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist sect have
kidnapped two prominent Emirs in the troubled Northeastern State of
Borno, report says.
Ismaila Mamza, Emir of Uba, and Idrisa Timta, Emir of Gwoza, were abducted in the early hours of Friday on their way to attend the burial of the late Shehu Abubakar, Emir of Gombe.
Abubakar died on Tuesday at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London, UK where he was undergoing cancer treatment.
Borno State, which is the stronghold of the extremists has recently suffered several violent attacks by the sect, one of such is the abduction of over 200 girls from the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno.
